Short answer
Thrive Nutrition (thrivenutrition.app) is a free plant-food nutrition reference. It shows per-100 g nutrition facts for 700+ plant foods, copied from two public food-composition datasets: UK CoFID (McCance and Widdowson's Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset) and USDA FoodData Central. It is a reference to look things up, not a food diary or tracker.
Where the numbers come from
- 60 cards use a UK CoFID row and 673 cards use a USDA FoodData Central row. The card names the row under its table.
- 294 of those show "Closest official match": no row exists for the same food in the same form, so the card uses the nearest published row and says so.
- 0 cards carry the general "CoFID / USDA" label.
- 0 cards have no CoFID or USDA row yet. Their numbers are blank. Nothing is estimated or invented.
- Nutrients a row does not report are left blank, and blank values are left out of every ranking.
What the numbers mean
Figures are per 100 g of the food in the form named on the card (raw, cooked, dry or as sold). They are typical food-composition values, not lab results for one product. Vitamins and minerals show % NRV (UK) where a UK reference exists; energy and macros show % RI. See the % NRV (UK) explainer and the full data sources page.
Rankings
- Plant foods highest in iron per 100 g
- Plant foods highest in calcium per 100 g
- Plant foods highest in protein per 100 g
- Plant foods highest in fibre per 100 g
- Plant foods highest in vitamin c per 100 g
What's free
Search, food cards, per-100 g tables and rankings are free, with no account. Plate is the optional paid plan; see Plate.
Not the same as other apps
Thrive Nutrition (thrivenutrition.app) is not affiliated with the App Store app "Thrive Plate", or with Thrive AI (getthrive.app).
