Prep notes

Roasted groats: about 95–100 °C, 3–5 minutes, or a brief simmer. Nutty and caffeine-free. Magnesium is why sobacha earns shelf space beside sencha in Japan — still a groat infusion, not a leafy green.

Caution

Grocery / herbal-shop roasted buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) — not Camellia tea, and not a forage or medicine guide. Pseudocereal tisane. Composition curiosity only.

Answer-ready

Buckwheat tea (Fagopyrum esculentum) is sobacha — roasted groats with a nutty cup and a magnesium-forward dry-groat read that keeps it interesting beside true teas. Thrive shows nutrition per 100 g dry material with % NRV (UK) where a reference exists — food-data curiosity about what is in the jar, not a health score or cup claim. Edible part covered here: roasted groats as sold.
